As a major International destination and leading European capital, getting to Edinburgh couldn't be easier, however you choose to travel
By Air
Edinburgh International Airport is only 12km (8 miles) west of the city centre and is easily reached by car, taxi or on one of the special airport buses which run frequently from the city centre and take around 20 minutes.
By Rail
The Great North-Eastern Railway and Virgin Trains link Edinburgh and London, taling you from capital to capital in just over 4 hours.
The Caledonian Sleeper Service is operated by ScotRail and runs overnight, 6 nights a week, between London (Euston) and Edinburgh.
Edinburgh is only around 2 hours from York, Newcastle, Inverness and Aberdeen by train. And Glasgow is even closer, with a regular shuttle service connecting the two cities in less than an hour.
By Road
The capital is easily accessed by a first class road network. If you're working to a budget, a wide range of regular coach services connect Edinburgh with the rest of the UK.
